Canadian Downhill Skateboarding’s Mission to Attend World Skate Games
Canadian Downhill Skateboarding (CDS) is the leading Canadian national skateboarding team comprised of eight men and six women. Recognized by the Canadian Olympic Committee, CDS is responsible for promoting Canadian downhill skateboarding internationally. Currently fundraising to attend this year’s World Skate Games in Argentina, the team hopes to defend the gold medal that athlete, Dane Hanna won at the 2019 World Skate Games hosted in Barcelona. The sport, while growing in popularity and recognition on the world stage (as seen by its inclusion at the 2020 Tokyo Olympic games), suffers from a lack of funding. The CDS team is currently seeking donations to subsidize travel and accommodation expenses.
